An Italian SME in the biopolymers field is taking part to a proposal under the H2020 topic:SFS-23-2019: Integrated water management in small agricultural catchments.The project aims to provide an affordable, quick and smart water retention technology to manage the known problems of water excess and shortage in the central Europe. SMEs active in agriculture sector, chemical companies manufacturers of polymers, farmers and/or farmer association, SMEs for communication are sought for the call.

An Italian SME in the biopolymers field is taking part in a proposal whose title is: Water management Oriented Research on Superabsorbent Hydrogels Innovative Perspectives (WORSHIP) that will be coordinated by a Czech University.
The project aims to provide an affordable, quick and smart water retention technology to manage the known problems of water excess and shortage in central Europe. This project will develop a novel super adsorbent biopolymer able to retain water in water excess conditions and release it in water shortage conditions. Additionally, the functionalities of the biopolymer can adsorb nutrients by several chemical-physical mechanisms and thus to recover nutrients from water streams. This project will provide a biopolymer technology easy to deploy and maintain at farm level since, an economic analysis will underline the sustainability of the proposed technology including maintenance of the infrastructure, adaptation to climate change and its impact on ecosystem services, long-term benefits for the farm and the local ecosystem from the implementation of the natural/small water retention measures.
Partners profile sought:
1) Farmers and SMEs in agriculture sector from continental, boreal and Pannonian regions of Europe, to test the biopolymer.

Republic, Germany, Denmark, France, Luxembourg, Poland, Romania, Sweden, Slovenia, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia).
2) Third party chemistry manufacturer.
3) Marketing specialist to bring the product to market.
4) Partner to undertake dissemination and communication.

The partners sought should have relevant experience, as well as potential and interest for sharing the project objective and innovation focus and for making a significant contribution to reaching the project goals.
