The efficient material development using Inline Injection Molding Compounding (IIMC)

The production and development of tailor-made plastic compounds for product-specific applications is a time-consuming and expensive proposition in the traditional compounding process. In particular, the classic compounding is only carried out by specialized concerns, which demand a high volume output and therefore cannot act for needs of individual companies. The presented work about Inline Injection Molding Compounding shows possibilities for product-specific material development of glass-fiber-reinforced Polypropylene. On the one hand, the influence of additives on the mechanical material behavior is characterized. Moreover, the analysis of plant engineering and process management is presented.
