Free webinar focuses on plastic injection molding problem-solving techniques

PlasticsToday is delighted to announce that Garrett MacKenzie will be hosting a free webinar next month devoted to troubleshooting the plastic injection molding process using scientific molding principles. More than 500 people registered for MacKenzie’s presentation last year, which received rave reviews. That was a more general description of scientific molding methods; this time around, he is narrowing the focus on problem-solving techniques that you can use on the shop floor to effectively identify changes within an existing molding process and remedy them.

Among other topics, MacKenzie will address the importance of developing a record of historical data to identify changes in a validated process and provide pointers on recognizing data that best define key injection molding measurables. He will also cite specific examples of changes that may occur under typical processing scenarios and suggest ways in which those problems can be corrected.

MacKenzie knows what he’s talking about: He has spent more than 31 years in plastics processing, engineering and development. He has worked in the automotive sector for both U.S. and Japanese automotive OEMs and has experience in handgun manufacturing at Glock. He trained under John Bozzelli in 1993, and has worked using RJG E-Dart systems for many years.

MacKenzie currently offers a two-day training program, the "Core Processor Training System," which involves at-the-press training using the facility's own materials, controllers, processes and auxiliary equipment. In addition, he works as a Process Engineer for Ernie Green Industries, a Tier 1 supplier to Honda.

MacKenzie is leading a scientific molding workshop in Dalton, GA, on Oct. 27 and 28, 2018. For more information about the workshop, go to his or contact him at [email protected].

The hour-long webinar, , is scheduled for Sept. 11, 2018, at 11 AM PST/2 PM EST. Ample time will be included for a live Q&A. The webinar is free, but you must to attend.
