METHOD FOR AUTOMATICALLY INJECTING MONOMER FOR ARYL-BASED OPTICAL MATERIAL INTO MOLD

The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an optical material by injecting an aryl-based monomer solution into a cavity formed between a pair of molds having sealed outer edges and, more particularly, to a method for automatically injecting a monomer for an aryl-based optical material into a mold, in which a vision recognition system is used to inject an aryl-based monomer solution into the cavity, so as to enable quantitative injection within a short time. The present invention provides a method for automatically injecting a monomer for an aryl-based optical material into a mold, the method comprising the steps of: (a) preparing a monomer composition for an aryl-based optical material, the composition having a solid state refractive index of 1.537 to 1.585 and a viscosity of 20 to 800 cps at 25°C; (b) injecting most of the monomer composition into a cavity formed between a pair of molds, outer edges of which are sealed; and (c) detecting, following step (b), a fluid surface by using a vision recognition system while injecting the monomer composition into the cavity and terminating the injection of the monomer composition when the fluid surface is detected to have reached a configured final injection point. According to the present invention, the monomer solution for an aryl-based optical material can be automatically injected into a mold in a quantitative amount neither insufficiently nor excessively.
