Protek Plastic Containers adds new capacity

Protech Plastic Containers has expanded its production capacity with the addition of new injection moulding machines.

The Tamworth-based moulding specialist has recently added five BMB packaging spec injection moulding machines, including two 850T, two 450T and one 380T models.

The 850T machines feature integrated in-mould labelling (IML) functionality. Other elements include Islemann side entry and STAR cartesian automation, supplied by Plastech Solutions. These incorporate static generation equipment used to hold labels in place on the surface of the production tooling.

The Ilsemann units offer ultra-high speed cycling. Features include carbon fibre end-of-arm tooling for weight production and rigidity. There is also full optical component inspection, together with automated product stacking and palletising.

The company has completed an £8m (€8.8m) round of investment over the past two years and now features a total of 21 high-speed moulding machines.
